Little Lady Bug Baby Shower

I recently had the pleasure of co-hosting my sister's baby shower with my mom. As soon as we found it was a girl I started spending hours and hours researching cute things! I wanted it to be somewhat elegant yet still cute and of course I wanted it to be done for a smaller budget.

I couldn't have done it without the help of my girls. Morgan, Tenzie and Sydney spent hours helping me get everything just perfect. We did so much work during the days before that set up was a breeze and it was an absolutely stress free party.

Okay look at those little shoes. Sooo cute!!

hehe these little clips came on one of the gifts...I may have suggested to my sister that they could be used as tassles.

Sarah's mother in law to be made this little hat and booties. That hat is so stinkin' cute! I want one in my size! No like seriously, Sar if you are reading this, hook me up!

The game we played was one where you measure the mommy to be's belly and whoever comes closest wins. So this is my sister showing us all of her belly. She is almost 7 months here...can you freakin believe that??

Leavin' On A Jet Plane...

It was a morning filled with mixed emotions for me. Morgan is off on what I hope is the first of many adventures. While I am so freakin' excited for her and her friends, I have to admit I cried last night while she packed her stuff and a little in the truck on the way home after dropping her off at the airport.

See to me she is this lil smiling 3 year old that calls me mama...

But really she is this almost 17 year old smiling girl that calls me mama...

And she is heading to this huge city!!

I have been smiling all day thinking of how much fun she is going to have but in my head I am also counting the sleeps until she gets home.

6 sleeps by the way...just sayin'.

We are all springed up!

Soooooo you will notice we have had a little makeover..pretty darn spiffy huh? Lena over at Simply Fabulous Blogger Templates is such a talented lil muffin! She creates so many awesome templates and most of them are for free! How much does that rock???

She also has a section called Premades for a Purpose. I have purchased several of these and they are great! The best part is the "purpose" is to help cover funds for their adoption. Makes me smile.

It's snowing as type this so I am hoping Alberta will decide that spring is coming soon..puhhleeze enough with the snow! I miss spring.

Please show your support for a family friend Leala as she raises money for a very good cause. Leala is participating in "Homeless for a Night" on May 27th. Leala is a college student and as I was reading some of the information about this event it hurt my heart to see so many of the homeless youth are college age. They deserve a second chance.

Homeless for a Night presented by Canadian Western Bank helps support the Youth Emergency Shelter Society. YESS has assisted over 25,000 youth and hundreds of families since we opened our doors in 1982. Our clients are between the ages of 15 and 21 years old, and come from a wide variety of backgrounds. Over 70% of these youth have been physically, mentally, sexually or emotionally abused. Your support helps us to provide a safe place for these young people in crisis and ensures the continued success of our programs.

I asked my sweet friend Karrie from Briar Rose to make my new niece due in June some little lovies. We decided on these..to start! I am so thrilled with them! The pictures don't do justice to how cute these are. I can't wait for Madison to be born so I can post pictures of her on Karrie's page! I am already picking things out for the other baby girl being born into our family this spring. Karrie is always adding new fonts and designs and her page just makes me smile. Baby Shower, Mono and NY Planning

We have had quite the weekend.

Morgan is two weeks away from her big school trip to NY. We recieved the itinerary at the final parents' meeting last week and Morgan is one lucky kid!! They are seeing 3 broadway shows, supper at Little Italy, Night at the Apollo, Rockefeller Center Tour and staying in Times Square...just to name a few! I will post pics when she gets back.

Tenzie has been sick on and off for quite a while and in the last couple of days it got so much worse. We ended up taking her in and they think she has mono :( She is so sick and I hate seeing her like this. I wish I could make it so they are never sick! We went and got blood tests today so we will find out for sure tomorrow but the doctors are about 95% sure it's mono.

Sunday was baby shower day for my sister and everything turned out awesome! I can't thank my girls Morgan, Sydney and Tenzie for their hours of help. I will post pics later this week.

I stumbled across it a couple weeks ago when I was looking for DYI ideas for a media unit for Mark to make. I found this one above and fell in love. Ana's site is awesome...you ready?? Mama, Do You Think We Look Alike?

This picture of my girlies is a few years old.

But it answers the question they always like to ask "Mama do you think we look alike?"

They are the same in so many ways and yet different all at the same time.

Morgan is very fair skinned with dark hair and about a million and one freckles.

Tenzie is always tanned and has dirty blond hair and only a few freckles.

Morgan is more timid where Tenzie is always bold.

Yet they have the same big beautiful brown eyes, exact same little
button noses, same cheek bones and chin.

They also have the same crazy sense of humor and they have this way
of making me smile even when I am grumpy.

How lucky am I?

Sleep...who needs it? Sadly me!

2:37 a.m. and I am online surfing blogs and watching Sabrina the Teenage Witch. Awesome! My days and nights are messed up just like a newborn. The medicine I get at least 3 days a week gives me flu like symptoms, so I usually try and sleep it off. What happens when you sleep for 4 or 5 hours during the day?? Well blog posts at 2:37 a.m. silly!
