I recently redid my pantry and wanted to do something with the light but what could I do? I wanted to stay under the $20.00 budget I had set for the pantry. Then it hit me...paint chip lamp shade! Excuse the half nail polished thumb.
I had this old little lampshade that we had bought from Ikea for Tenzie's room. It was just siting there begging to be redone. I took the 3 colors that I chose from Home Depot. I used my 1" circle punch and went to town as a punching machine.
You can go any design you want but I decided to do 2 of the blues with a brown in between. To glue this, I first started using hot glue but that didn't work so I switched to Gorilla Glue. (Hot glue of course worked but when I turned on the lightbulb, the circles started meting off! eek)
I accidently pulled one off and it ripped the one underneath. Grrrr so this faces the back of the pantry.
The top of the lampshade is actually the bottom of the new fixture so to hide the white fabric of the lamp, I just used brown craft paint and it turned out awesome!
