I Feel Like I am Starting A New Phase

Morgan graduated two weeks ago and although it has been business as usual in our house, I am scared of the fact that they are growing up. Tenzie and Keenan will graduate in 3 years. I obviously realize that every parent goes through this but it doesn't make it any easier.

While the kids are all starting new phases in their lives, I feel I am too. They are self-sufficient, other than as a taxi, I am not much use these days. There are days when I am a sobbing mess over this and then there are days where I relish the fact that I have some freedom. I was a mom to my own kids starting at 19 but was always a hands on sister to my 3 younger siblings. I haven't had much me time in the last 18 years.

This new phase scares me though, I don't do well with boredom. With the kids busy with their own lives and Mark very busy with work and hockey; I spend a lot of time alone! I don't know what to do with all of this free time.
Here are a few things I was thinking:
  1. Take a creative writing course
  2. Search out places in the city and surrounding area to go take some pictures and help hone those skills
  3. Work on my novel (yes I am attempting to write a novel!)
  4. Grow my blog
  5. Take lessons for a musical instrument.

That's a start!
Anyone else in this stage of life? Any tips? I would love to hear!
