Greeting Card Storage

I wanted to quickly share how I store greeting cards. I keep them in individual colorful folders that I found at the dollar store. I hole punched them and sorted them into categories. I keep the folders in a 2" three ring binder. So simple and so effective!

DIY ~ Paint Chip Lamp Shade

I recently redid my pantry and wanted to do something with the light but what could I do? I wanted to stay under the $20.00 budget I had set for the pantry. Then it hit me...paint chip lamp shade! Excuse the half nail polished thumb.

I had this old little lampshade that we had bought from Ikea for Tenzie's room. It was just siting there begging to be redone. I took the 3 colors that I chose from Home Depot. I used my 1" circle punch and went to town as a punching machine.

You can go any design you want but I decided to do 2 of the blues with a brown in between. To glue this, I first started using hot glue but that didn't work so I switched to Gorilla Glue. (Hot glue of course worked but when I turned on the lightbulb, the circles started meting off! eek)

I accidently pulled one off and it ripped the one underneath. Grrrr so this faces the back of the pantry.

The top of the lampshade is actually the bottom of the new fixture so to hide the white fabric of the lamp, I just used brown craft paint and it turned out awesome!

My DIY Confession: I HATE To Paint!

I hate to paint, there I said it.
I am painting a small bench for the front of the house and I started on Saturday...yeah not even half done. I just wanna get it finished but despise painting so much that I just keep dragging it out.

Here are a few tips I found to help the painting experience.

I Love and Adore My Followers

I recently read a blog post. I will be sweet and not name the blog....I am sweet like that.

The idea behind the post was that the author could care less if they had followers. Ummm say what?
I can't imagine doing all the work that goes into some of the posts and not caring if anyone saw them.

I love sharing things I create with all of you.

So please know from me to you, I adore you!

Pantry Makeover

 Happy Tuesday!
I wanted to share my pantry makeover with you. All of this for under $20.00. I used items in my house and just changed em up a little!

I love labels as you know so I took inexpensive shoe boxes and put everything according to category. Slapped on some cutie pie labels from Print Candee and voila!

Baskets that I had in my pantry already line the floor and hold Bread, Potatoes and the Popcorn
Maker and the Large Strainer.

Eventually I want to get large jars to hold our cereal. In the meantime I ran some plastic shoe boxes through the dishwasher and put some chalk board labels that Miss Martha has. I added large scoops I found at the dollar store.

I used large pickle jars and small pasta sauce jars as storage.

I painted out the lids in a color that coordinates with my kitchen. I then found the same color of scrapbooking paper at Michaels. I cut them in different sizes and ran them through my printer. I love how they turned out!

These are my small jars that hold spices.

I use a utensil holder that I found at Walmart in the seasonal isle to hold individual packs of juices.

I used to use this storage unit from Ikea for my makeup and then it moved to my office and now it got a cute makeover and now lives in the pantry. I put utensils in there that aren't used often.

I use this cute picnic basket that I bought a few years ago as an alcohol holder. What? You don't have an alcohol picnic basket? I think everyone should! hehe

Happy Mother's Day!

I often think of this quote and the very first thing that comes to mind is my children. At the end of my days, I always want to ensure I have set a good example for my children and made the most of my day with them. After all, they are my reason for everything.

Happy Mother's Day!!
